And so the husband and I finally decided to get inked.
Warning. If you’re not into cheesy, lovey-dovey stuff, turn away right now. You have been warned!
We’ve been looking through a lot of tattoo designs that will make for a perfect couple tattoo. In the end, we agreed to design our own.
It says olive juice. Of course you’ll ask why. So we saw this movie, The Other Sister, on one of our dates. In the movie, the couple who were still awkward trying to say I Love You opted to say olive juice instead. See, when you say olive juice, your mouth forms the words like saying i love you. Let’s pause for a moment here because I know you folks will try it.
So, did you see it? We tried it ourselves specially when we were out and about, or when we were flirting with each other from across a room full of people. It then became our tag line, if you must. And from olive juice, it became oj which eventually lead to #ojforever.
So, invested in this idea, we deliberated what it should look like. For me I have always loved scripts, with its loops and all. And of course it has to have a heart in it somewhere. The husband approved it both. Then, armed with this idea in our heads, off we went to the tattoo studio!
When getting a tattoo, most artists would want to get as much background as you can tell about the tattoo that you want. It’s how they can give you ideas to improve your design.
Ours is quite simple because it’s just texts and hearts. But while talking to the artist when she was preparing to print the design in Photoshop, we saw that she put the two words on top of each other to make sure the size were the same. That’s when we saw that the loop from L and J formed the infinity symbol! aaaw!
So it made us both happier that it turned out that way. And just when we thought the design had enough sentimental value in it, here goes the artist suggesting that we both draw the heart for each other. Squee!
After seeing the final sketch, my then nervous heart became eager to start. In 30 minutes, we saw the actual tattoo and I must say, I fell in love all over again.
p.s. getting a tattoo hurts like a b*&$!
